Screening Process
Screenings will be held monthly with an annual 'best of' event to showcase the past year. Each screening event will support about 20 to 40 people, so this is definitely an intimate setting.
The goal of the event is to bring people to local businesses to highlight their unique services and provide attendees with a chance to view short films that are not widely available or found either on the Internet or at popular film festivals. We want to find film makers who have good films, that don't get widely shown, because they are not the 'best of the best.' We figure there are a lot of great films that are good enough.
The events are no cost either for submissions or for attending. We do this just for fun to support the local community. With that in mind, in order to attract film makers, we want to give the film makers feedback about their films. With this in mind, attendees will be given survey forms to fill out what you thought about the film. Those surveys will be returned to the film makers for feedback.
We're not really into 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes, but what we are interested in are categories that mean something to us…something like:
- That really made me think
- Well, I wasn't expecting that
- Everyone laughed
- I think it's time to get a cup of coffee/tea/beer/goggles
I think you get the idea. The films don't necessarily compete against each other…they compete against themselves. We're a little irreverent but honest!
Browse on over to the venue section to learn more about where screenings will be shown.
After each film screening, the audience will be asked to complete a review of the film. This review will be returned to the film maker. The review tool will be hosted by SoGoSurvey. If you're interested in SoGoSurvey, please visit the following link.
